In Kupoli, Mannerheimintie 7 b 7th floor.

The Porthania squat of September 2015 began the Education Strike movement that also spread to Turku, Tampere, Joensuu and Jyväskylä. On December 1st, there were demonstrations around Finland, in Helsinki the university main building was squatted on, and in Turku, the Porthania squat's record for the the longest-standing university squat in the history of Finland was beaten. In the year 1968 - on nationwide strike and university occupation in Helsinki

Imagine the following situation. Due to a strike, public transportation is paralyzed all over the country. Some restaurants and shops shut their doors and 30,000 people are gathered in Helsinki to oppose the current cabinet’s austerity measures, despite of wind and rain. This (18th of September - trans.) is the first joint demonstration by all the confederations of labor unions in Finland since the last depression 24 years ago. “And now we are here again” is said on stage at the demonstration.

28th of March will be exactly 144 years since the first meeting and the founding declaration of the Paris Commune after its election. For the first time in the world history rebellious working class took over a major metropolis. During the following two months anarchists, communists, other socialists and radical republicans implemented many radical reforms never seen before. However, in May the central government drowned the commune in blood.

In Helsinki Thursday 22th of January: Is Syriza just a lame light-Keynesian ripoff?

The imminent rise of Syriza in power, and the way he presents himself in Europe has created a number of misunderstandings about its “radical” political nature. SYRIZA presents itself as the solution to the problems of the capitalist crisis in Europe. It presents itself as a solution to the problems of capitalism but within capitalism, and thus causes excitement in various left-wing political parties of similar positions throughout Europe. SYRIZA is presented as a solution and restore the Keynesian state, which globally but mainly at European level seems to disappear.
