From Prison to Exile: Freedom, Solidarity, and Resistance. Meeting with Lev Skoryakin in Bologna

October 18, 7:30 PM, Via San Donato 158/70 (source).

Lev Skoryakin is an anarchist, a former activist of the Left Bloc, a now disbanded network that brought together anarchists and Marxists for street protests. In 2022, after a symbolic action against the secret services, he was arrested but later released pending trial. He fled to Kyrgyzstan but was kidnapped and brought back to Russia. Eventually, Lev was sentenced to time already served plus a fine, after which he managed to escape to Germany. Lev is actively involved in Fires of Freedom, a support group for anarchist, antifascist, and anti-authoritarian prisoners, founded this year after the Anarchist Black Cross was banned in Russia.

He will speak about the activities of Fires of Freedom, other prisoner support groups, and also about the case of Ruslan Sidiki — an anarchist guerrilla fighter, a dual Russian-Italian citizen, who was sentenced in May to 29 years in prison for guerrilla actions in Russia against the war and in support of Ukraine.
