Defendant in the “Chita case” Lyubov Lizunova transferred to a new penal colony

On May 1918-year-old anarchist Lyubov Lizunova was transferred from her previous location at the Tomsk Juvenile Correctional Facility (TVK-2) to a new location.

According to the support group, she is being moved to one of the colonies in Buryatia. Lyuba spent more than two and a half months in TVK-2 after a three-week transfer from Chita SIZO-1. During her time in Tomsk, she completed the 11th grade, passed her final exams, and received mostly top marks — nearly all A’s and a few B’s.

According to the support group, despite the circumstances, Lyuba remains optimistic and strong. She says she finds it more interesting to interact with adults, is not afraid of change, and even if the conditions in the new colony are worse, she isn’t intimidated. She’s proud to have graduated from school and is very happy about it, and she hopes to see her parents soon.

As a reminder, over a year ago, on April 25, 2024, the 1st Eastern District Military Court, in an off-site session in Chita, sentenced Lyubov Lizunova to 3.5 years in prison. She was convicted under articles for inciting extremism  and terrorism. Lizunova and another defendant in the “Chita anarchists’ case,” Alexander Snezhkov, were arrested in autumn 2022 in Chita, on suspicion of creating graffiti and administering Telegram channels "75zlo" and "Shugan-25," which published information about anti-war protests in Ukraine, guerrilla actions, and animal rights advocacy. On November 25, 2024, an appeal upheld Lizunova’s sentence of 3.5 years without any reduction.

Alexander Snezhkov since the third decade of February and up until today has been held in hole (SHIZO, a punitive isolation ward). He is not being allowed to adjust peacefully to life in the colony; every effort is being made to make his stay there harder. By fabricating more reports of alleged "violations" and continuing to keep the anarchist in SHIZO, the administration is doing everything to have Alexander transferred to SUS (Strict Detention Conditions), the harshest regime in a general-regime colony.
