For over a year now, the trial in the Tyumen case has been moving through the Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg. The defendants—anarchists and anti-fascists—were detained in 2022 and subjected to brutal torture. Since then, there have been 30 court hearings. Each one is a step in a long fight to protect the lives and futures of people who dared to resist.
In June, we managed to raise 48,000 rubles (about 500 euros). Thank you to everyone who contributed—your solidarity keeps this going.
Why We're Reaching Out Now
Right now, our fundraising accounts are empty. We have no way to pay the lawyers in September or beyond.
We need to raise 450,000 rubles (around 4,700 euros) by the end of August. That amount will cover five lawyers’ work for a month—court appearances, travel to detention centers, lodging, and everything else that comes with defending people in a case this serious.
The money will go directly toward the defense of Danil Chertykov, Nikita Oleynik, Deniz Aydin, Yuri Neznamov, and Roman Paklin. Without lawyers, they are left alone to face one of the harshest judicial systems in Europe.
What Happened
Between August 30 and September 1, 2022, six people were arrested in Surgut, Yekaterinburg, and Tyumen. During their detention, they were tortured—electric shocks, waterboarding, beatings, and threats of sexual violence.
Confessions were forced out under torture and used as the basis for terrorism charges. The charges were later made even more severe.
Despite medical documentation of the torture, no investigation was ever opened. One of the defendants, Kirill Brik, agreed to cooperate with the investigators and was sentenced to eight years in prison. The others continue to maintain their innocence.
Roman Paklin’s case has now been separated from the main group and reopened. He and the others are facing sentences of 15 to 30 years. Nikita Oleynik, labeled as the group’s “organizer,” could be sentenced to life in prison.
What We’re Paying For
Our legal team is made up of five experienced lawyers, all traveling from different cities. Their work is demanding—they attend every court hearing, meet with the defendants in detention, and prepare detailed legal strategies under constant pressure. They’re doing everything possible to protect our friends. But they can’t keep going without support.

Share and Support
Please help by sharing this appeal. Spreading the word helps us reach more people—and more people means more chances to make this defense possible.
Thank you for standing with us. With your help, we’ve been able to support these legal defenses for nearly three years. We still believe it’s possible to show the truth in court. But without lawyers, without resources, we can’t do this.
Solidarity is our weapon!
