Support anarchist Dmitry Osyagin, sentenced to 15 years for arson of a court building and anti-war comments

Anarchist and anti-war activist Dmitry Osyagin from Kazan has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for setting fire to a court building. He was charged under three articles: calling for "extremism", "terrorism" and committing a “terrorist act” .

Fundraising for Lawyers' Work of the Tyumen Case against anarchists and anti-fascists in September

For over a year now, the trial in the Tyumen case has been moving through the Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg. The defendants—anarchists and anti-fascists—were detained in 2022 and subjected to brutal torture. Since then, there have been 30 court hearings. Each one is a step in a long fight to protect the lives and futures of people who dared to resist.

‘I couldn’t watch people die in silence’ The story of Alexey Rozhkov

On 11 March 2022, at around 5am, Alexey Rozhkov left his house in the city of Beryozovsky in the Urals. He took three bottles of beer that he had made into Molotov cocktails, and went to the local military recruitment office.

Anarchist Alexey Rozhkov sentenced to 16 years for setting fire to a military enlistment office

Rozhkov carried out the third known arson attack on a military enlistment office following the full-scale invasion of Ukraine by the Russian army. He committed the act on March 11, 2022, as a form of protest and a way to draw attention to the situation. In an interview Ivan Astashin conducted with Alexey in December 2022 — when he had managed to flee to Kyrgyzstan — the anarchist explained his motivation:

Tyumen case solidarity group is opening a fundraiser to pay for Roman Paklin's defense

Friends, during the repeated psychiatric examination Roman was recognized as sane. Now the case against him has been reopened. He will be considered separately from the other defendants of the «Tyumen case».

Very soon in the case of Roman Paklin will enter a new defense lawyer. A new fundraisers for  the lawyer costs has been opened.

At this stage it is necessary to raise 2 860 € for Roman's defense. This is the first payment, which will be enough for 6 months of work of the defense lawyer. 

Help the defendants of the "Tyumen case" in their fight for freedom

Six anarchists from Russia have been held in pre-trial detention for a year on spurious charges of creating a "terrorist community". According to Russian law, our comrades face a total of 5 to 15 years of imprisonment for the charged articles, and 15 to 30 years of life imprisonment for organizing or leading a "terrorist community". The main proof of guilt is a confession given under torture.

19 years for anti-war arson

10th of April, the Central District Military Court in Yekaterinburg sentenced Roman Nasryev and Aleksey Nureyev to 19 years in prison for firebombing an administrative building, where the military registration desk is based. Roman and Aleksey must spend the first 4 years in prison, and the next — in a maximum-security penal colony.

This is the most severe sentence handed down so far for anti-war arson.

The Court began to consider the case against Roman Nasryev and Alexey Nuriev

On the night of October 11, 2022, fire was set to the administration office of the town of Bakal in Chelyabinsk region with Molotov cocktails. The building housed a military registration office.

On the same day, Roman Nasryev and Alexey Nuriev were detained on suspicion of arson. At first they were accused of "destruction or damage to property", but the FSB took over the case and the charges were reclassified to "terrorist act". Later an article on "training for the purpose of terrorist activity" was added to the charges.

Repression of Anti-Fascists in the Urals: Arrests and Torture

On August 30-31 in Tyumen, Yekaterinburg and Surgut, six antifascists were detained and later placed in pre-trial detention centers. This is reported by the Prometheus telegram channel:

"On August 30, two anti-fascists were detained in Tyumen. According to investigators, they were carrying an explosive, which they allegedly wanted to test near the Tyumen Thermal Power Plant. On 2 September they were charged with fabrication of weapons and detained until the end of October.

Rally against the police department of Yekaterinburg №5

In Yekaterinburg May 30, 2015 rally against the tyranny of the police. The occasion was a series of unjustified detentions of public activists cops of the Police Department №5, including anti-fascists on May 9 for a photo with a scarf Omonia at the monument to the heroes of World War II.

News on the case of Alexei Sokolov

In mid-November in the case of human rights activist Alexei Sokolov will be filed an application for parole. Protecting Alexei Sokolov have already started to prepare for it. In Yekaterinburg, near the offices of the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus held a rally of solidarity with the Belarusian anarchist

Today in the 17-40 anarchists and human rights activists in Yekaterinburg and Tyumen gathered near the Mission of Belarus to Yekaterinburg to protest harassment of Belarusian anarchist and social activist. Participants of the rally stretched the 10-meter banner in the Belarusian language "Will belaruskim anarhistam!" And distributed leaflets. Leaflets include information on prosecution and detention of activists in Belarus and called for solidarity with the prisoners.
