Nearly three years ago – between August 30 and September 1, 2022 – six anarchists and anti-fascists were arrested in Surgut, Yekaterinburg, and Tyumen. All of them were subjected to severe torture including electric shocks, waterboarding, beatings, and threats of sexual violence. Their confessions, extracted under duress, were then used to charge them with «creating and participating in a terrorist organization». The charges were later made more severe. Nikita, Danil, Roma, Yura, and Deniz do not admit guilt. The sixth defendant in the «Tyumen case» – Kirill Brik – is already serving his sentence. A year ago, he was sentenced to 8 years in prison under a pre-trial agreement. He testified against himself and his comrades. His sentence forms the basis for the charges against the others. In July 2024, we stopped supporting Kirill Brik.
Currently, the court process has been ongoing in the Central District Military Court of Yekaterinburg. For over six months, the court has been questioning prosecution witnesses. We recently published a detailed post with intermediate outcomes of these hearings. The defense is clearly demonstrating to the court and the public the absurdity of the charges.
The case against Roma has been resumed and is being reviewed separately. The prosecutor has already begun presenting written evidence concerning the charges against him.
On October 25, 2024, the so-called «Vanguard of People's Will» (a non-existent group that our friends are accused of being involved in) was designated a terrorist organization. On March 17, 2025, the defendants in the «Tyumen case» were added to the list of terrorists.
At present, all defendants have qualified attorneys whom both they and the support team fully trust. The defense is currently coordinating their positions and fine-tuning their strategy.
To raise awareness about the case, we regularly print merchandise in support of our comrades. Their drawings are featured in various exhibitions (including internationally), we hold press conferences, and we conduct live broadcasts from the courtroom to maintain transparency.
With your help, we have been able to pay the fees of five attorneys involved in the «Tyumen case» for nearly three years. Right now, we need to raise another 3700 euros by June 10. This amount will ensure attorney participation in five substantive court sessions scheduled for June. Each of these days isn’t just a number – it represents the fate of people fighting for their freedom.
In April, 760 euros was donated to the fundraising cards. We sincerely thank you, dear comrades. This amount was collected thanks to your invaluable support and solidarity. As of now, 2800 euros remains on the fundraising cards – unfortunately, not enough to cover legal defense expenses.
We need to raise another 3700 euros within a month! In June, legal defense costs are projected at a minimum of 6500 euros (lawyers' fees + transfer and accommodation).
Currently, we are funding the work of five defense attorneys representing Nikita Oleinik, Yuri Neznamov, Danil Chertykov, Deniz Aydin, and Roman Paklin.
