15-M is the most important protest in the Spanish history since Spain
gained democracy in 1977. 15-M began in 2011 at the square of Puerta del Sol in Madrid and spread rapidly into all cities of Spain.
Madrid’s public spaces are shaped through squatting, protest-camps,
marches, strikes, manifestations and graffiti.

Disturbances: Anticapitalism in Finland + Rembetiko Party

Capitalism and markets have always been fought back. Reforming and countering market mechanisms has brought about welfare and innovation for example in all Nordic countries, but inherent problems of capitalism have not disappeared.

Markets centralize wealth, force people into poverty and foster strife and competition between people. At the same time, markets help propel the greatest environmental catastrophe humanity has ever faced - planetary climate change.

Peace to Ukraine, free Russian political prisoners!

Vladimir Putin will visit Finland on friday 1th of July 2016. Conflict in Ukraine is still going on, in year 2016 only more than 600 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and wounded in ceasefire violations. Both parts of the conflicts have been reluctant to fulfill their responsibilities under Minsk II treaty. Vladimir Putin admitted presence of Russian troops last December, and he is one of the persons directly involved in the continuation of the bloodshed, and bears personal responsibility for human rights violations in occupied Ukrainian territory.

Join international days of solidarity with Russian anarchist and antifascist prisoners 1st to 10th July, 2016

When mass civil protests in Russia were defeated in 2011-12 the Putinist police regime started open political repressions against militants of social and political movements, including anarchists and antifascists. Many activists have been sentenced to prison terms in the course of the last 5 years in Russia.

Reporters most often give voices to those who possess the most wealth and influence. The media prefers to preserve the status quo rather than change it. There is a large number of people in Finland whose experiences the media does not reach or represent in any way.

Anarchofeminism or parliamentary feminism?

Suvi Auvinen and Tiina Rosenberg discuss feminism and power. Does the patriarchy have something to do with state and capitalism? Should feminism be compatible or incompatible with the parliamentary system? Can feminists harness the state and the corporate world to drive the feminist agenda? Should feminists establish parties, march on the streets, attack the police do something else?

Disturbances-lecture 30th of January: Economic or Political Organization -- or both? Anarchism and Trade Unions

On Saturday 30th of January In Kupoli, Uusi ylioppilastalo, Mannerheimintie 5 B 7th floor. Doors open at 6pm and the lecture starts at 6.15.

Finnish labor unions have been marked by power struggle between political parties for nearly a hundred years now. Revolutionary syndicalism, born in early 20th century France, tried to end inter-party arguments within labor unions. Revolution was to be achieved solely through economic means without political power struggles.
