This is one of the main recreational areas of the country, which is visited by thousands of tourists every year. Harming the environment, the

Resistance to the nordic mining boom – action camp in Finnish North Karelia starting the 18th of June 2013

Talvivaara’s nickel-uranium mine has caused the most serious environmental damage in the finnish history in decades. The mine has been continuously polluting the amazing waterscapes of eastern Finland. More and more people and organizations are demanding closing of the mine and the locals can’t use water from several lakes anymore, but it doesn’t seem to have any impact in a country where the finance elite knows that the government is in their service.

Terminal recession - what is it?

February 3rd at 2 PM at Kupoli of New student house, Mannerheimintie 5 B 7th floor
The present recession is not an ordinary hiccup in capitalist circulation. A terminal recession results as economic growth hits the limits of cheap energy. The amount of free labour de-grows. Various efforts of adjusting the so-called real economy to the end of growth follow. We have to expect not only uncertainty but also an increase in authoritarian tendencies.

Interview of Campaign to Defend Khimki Hostages for TerraSelvaggia

TerraSelvaggia is an Italian eco-anarchist paper, which made this interview with Russian Campaign to Defend Khimki Hostages last September. Paper issue came up some time ago after the usual delays, so now it is time for online publication. Keep in mind, that this interview reflects the situation in Russian society last September – before the recent massive protest against election fraud. Now much has changed since then, but much is still the same. Enjoy!

Cross the border before it's not too late - escape story of Denis Solopov in his own words

I am often faced with one basic question: whether, if knowing the consequences I would still take the same actions I did last year. Of course I would. Yes, we all suffered the consequences, but we also proved that average people, when united are able to scare insolent bureaucrats. Nowadays in the Russia this is worth the effort. Who are the police investigators and field operatives? TThey are subordinates who are generally too frightened to admit that they are the slaves of their bosses, deceiving themselves that things are otherwise. Many of them have clearly understood that they have to make some junk and invent a sort of extremism. Maybe there are also sincere stupid people who believe in their work. These fools do not see the extremists in officials and instead search for them in housing districts.

Summary of common a week of common actions to defend the Khimki hostages from the 2nd to the 9th of April 2011

25 cities. Alexei Gaskarov and Maxim Solopov are currently out from jail, in court facing charges following from a demonstration, which was organised 28th of July 2010 in Moscow suburg of Khimki against construction of Moscow-St. Petersburg toll road, and the gross human rights violations against its opposers. Denis Solopov has been granted an UNCHR refugee status in Ukraine, but in beginning of April he was detained and is currently waiting his deportation court in Lykyanovka prison of Kiev.

Echo of Chernobyl: found high levels of radiation in the Ukrainian food

Even 25 years later, the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster continue to remind myself. They found high levels of radiation in milk, mushrooms and berries in several regions of Ukraine. In March of this year, environmentalists have analyzed the food in Zhytomyr, Rivne and Kyiv regions. A total of 114 tested samples of milk, berries, mushrooms and vegetables. Almost all samples (93%) of milk in the village Drozdyn Rivne region contained an unacceptably high level of radioactive cesium-137.

Report from court hearings of “Khimki hostages”

On March 14 and 23, 2010 two court hearings in the case of antifascists Alexei Gaskarov and Maxim Solopov who were accused of organizing attack on the Khimki City Administration, took place at the Khimki City Court.
Accusation against Alexei and Maxim is absurd and based on false evidence of three alleged eyewitnesses identifying them as persons participated in the riots.
