Exiled

In the far North-West of a once mighty empire, there is a distant province, mostly known due to the sluggishness of its inhabitants. They have still not gotten rid of the statue of a czar, who ruled 150 years ago, in the central square of their capital. Inhabitants of the province have never won a single war, but they have a plenty of other reasons to be proud - for example, a ski-jumper who achieved a lot in 1980, but has since then struggled with a substance abuse problem.

The FSB is expelling political activists from Russia

On the 29th of March the Federal Migration Service of Russia gave Finnish citizen Antti Rautiainen, a member of Autonomous Action, an order to leave the Russian Federation within 15 days. According to the order, Rautiainen is suspected of "making statements for the violent overthrow of the constitutional order." Migration authorities have commented, that such decisions are made according to orders from the FSB.

Rautiainen wants to appeal the decision with help of lawyers from the "Civic Action" NGO.

Photo report from first freemarket in Severodvinsk

26th of Febryary, first freemarket, organised by anarchists, was organised in Severodvinsk of Arkhangelsk region in White sea. During freemarket, clothes, books, household equipment and food was distributed - for everyone in need, homeless people included. During freemarket, interviews were given to local press, video is to be published later. We call everyone to build alternatives to capitalist system right here and right now, a struggle for a better life should go on in every fronts - in home, in work, in education and in the street. Most important is not to be passive and to believe to ones strenght. Truth is in our side, we will win!

Anarchist anti-fascist murdered in Samara, Russia - friends and family need support!

On the 9th of February, at 6:30 in the morning in the area of the institute "FIAN" (in Samara) a janitor found the body of Nikita Kalin, born in 1991. At 8:00am police arrived on the scene, and at 11:00am police contacted the mother of the victim. According to his mother, Nikita was stabbed 61 times, besides this, his ribs were fractured multiple times, and his head was wounded as well. No property was stolen. Currently there is one murder suspect under arrest.
Nikita's blood was found on the clothes of the arrested suspect.

In Moscow, a solidarity action was organised for "the Belgrade six"

7th of February Serbian at the Serbian embassy of Moscow, a solidarity picket was organised against renewed court process of the Serbian anarchists, so called "Belgrade Six". Picket was organised by Moscow group of Autonomous Action, and was joined by members of Russian section of International Workers Association, and other Moscow anarchists. Picketeers had a banner "Freedom to Serbian anarchists", placates "Solidarity with Belgrade Six", and "Fuck you, no 18 euros" and others.

Malmö, 04/02: Demonstration against ACTA (Anti Counterfeit Trading Agreement)

Yesterday, the 4th of february people went out on the streets of Malmo (the 3rd largest city in Sweden) to show their position against the ACTA agreement.

Protesters were young, aware and angry. Participants had been invited to the protest via facebook.

People wearing Masks of Guy Fawkes ("the only man ever to enter Parliament with honest intentions") had banners and were screaming slogans such as:
"Struggle continue, ACTA should gonne"

Nizhny Novgorod criminal case – Interview with Artem Bystrov, framed Anti-Fascist activist

On April 26, 2011, in the morning, six young people were arrested by Center “E” detectives (so-called “Anti-Extremist” cops). Five anti-fascists of Nizhny Novgorod were subject to home-searches. One of the flats was stormed by OMON (Special Police Squad), the windows were broken because nobody was at home.

During the searches the membership cards of a non-existing organisation “RASH-Antifa” with photos and serial numbers, evidently made by Center “E” (Anti-Extremist Center) detectives, were planted in suspects’ homes.

Moscow anarchists on electoral corruption demonstration

December 24, anarchists took part in a mass protest rally against rigged elections and the party of crooks and thieves. Speakers from the platform was told that it was attended by over 120 thousand people. Even before the rally, anarchists were victims of a provocation: approximately 13.20 7 persons with folded banners, posters and related packaged shafts were arrested without explanation in the area of the Yaroslavl station. In the ATS with them at first wanted to hold a "preventive talks" and then issue the administrative records for alleged disorderly conduct. Around 15.00, after the arrival of the department of human rights defenders arrested anarchists were released and able to take part in the rally. However, the police illegally confiscated the rallies of props, including banners and posters with the slogan "You're a condom". Perhaps the guards remembered that by a condom with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin likened the symbol of the December protests - a white ribbon.

Malmo, 23.12. Solidarity Action with worker’s uprise in Kazakhstan and Russia

Today, on December, 23, when capitalists divert the working class from fighting for their rights through the half-sectarian “Christmas traditions” and consumerism connected therewith, our international “Group of Anarcho-Communists” decided to remind of the sharpening of class struggles in Kazakhstan and Russia, as well as of International solidarity. Petersburg Activist Filipp Kostenko Sentenced to Another 15 Days in Jail

On December 22, Judge E.K. Yermolina of the 153rd Judicial Precinct [in Saint Petersburg] sentenced Filipp Kostenko, an activist and employee of the human rights organization Memorial Anti-Discrimination Center, to another fifteen days of administrative arrest. For his involvement in mass protests against the rigged elections, Kostenko had already served fifteen days in jail, but in violation of procedure he was not released [as scheduled, on December 21]. As we have previously reported, the decision for Kostenko’s compulsory delivery to court was sent to the administration of the detention facility [where he was serving his first sentence] a few minutes before his anticipated release. This decision was made due to the fact that Kostenko had failed to appear in court [on December 9], although at that time he was serving fifteen days of administrative arrest.

Filip Kostenko is one of the hundreds of people, arrested in Russia during a crackdown against protests against bogus elections. He was singled out as a political activist, and given a 15 day arbitrary prison sentence. He has been in a hungerstrike since 7th of December.
