On June 2 preliminary hearing regarding the case of anarchist political prisoner Ilya Romanov from Nizhnii Novgorod was conducted in Moscow District Military Court. Ilya took part in the court session via video conference link. The court rejected all the petitions of the defendant's lawyer, Evgeny Gubin, including the petition to cancel his "non-disclosure" pledge, which the investigating bodies made him to sign.

Ilya Romanov, a 46-years old Russian anarchist, was wounded on 26th of October 2013. According to authorities, this happened when a homemade bomb suddenly went off in his hands. The accident happened next to a building occupied by Russian Army draft office.
Local police stated that the homemade bomb exploded early in the morning on saturday in the hands of anarchist. His left hand was torn off. The man was placed in hospital.
Ilya Romanov was interrogated by the police. He claimed the “homemade explosive device” was in fact a firecracker.
Last autumn, a longstanding case against Nizhni Novgorod anti-fascists was returned to investigation, and for a while it seemed like a final victory . However, in contrary to these expectations, the case returned to court this spring and things do not look too good.
In Russian mainstream media, turn of the Nizhni Novgorod was handled with little revealing headlines - "Case of Nizhni Novgorod anti-fascists was returned to investigators". Thus few understood, that as a matter of fact this was perhaps the sweetest victory of Russian anti-fascist movement this year, this far.
18th of October, lenta.ru news service transmitted that judge refused to sentence defendants of the so called "Antifa-RASH" case in Nizhni Novgorod. Judge Olga Koloverova demanded police to reinvestigate the case, in order to exclude contradictions, which are currently obvious.

The political police (the Center for Combating Extremism or Center “E”) have fabricated a criminal case against our comrades. Anti-fascism has been outlawed in our city. What are the charges against our friends and comrades?
On April 26, 2011, in the morning, six young people were arrested by Center “E” detectives (so-called “Anti-Extremist” cops). Five anti-fascists of Nizhny Novgorod were subject to home-searches. One of the flats was stormed by OMON (Special Police Squad), the windows were broken because nobody was at home.
During the searches the membership cards of a non-existing organisation “RASH-Antifa” with photos and serial numbers, evidently made by Center “E” (Anti-Extremist Center) detectives, were planted in suspects’ homes.
At the present moment by The Anti-Extremist Center of GUVD (General Directorate of Internal Affairs - SM) in Nizhniy Novgorod Region detectives a criminal case is fabricating against Artem Bystrov, who was arrested on April 26,2011. He is incriminated the article № 213 part 2 (hooliganism committed by a group of persons on preliminary arrangement by hatred or hostility toward a particular social group). Two of suspects yet couldn't be arrested. It is worth noting that victim itself — a nationalist D.Redkin, doesn't have any claims to people arrested on April 26 and refuses to take part in confrontments. The case was filed seven months after the accident. It was filed by pressure at the victim and the witness. The investigation is proceeded with gross violations and falsification of evidence. For example during the rummages the membership cards of non-existing organisation “RASH-Antifa” with photos and serial numbers, evidently made by Center “E”(The Anti-Extremist Center - SM) detectives, were planted in to the suspects' homes. <
January 19, Nizhny Novgorod, anarchists and anti-fascists held a number of actions in memory of the attorney Markelov and journalist and anarchist Anastasia Baburova killed by neo-Nazis.
At Oka Congress in rush hour on the roadway was hung a large banner with the names of the dead and the words "To remember and fight!".
Later in the evening Avtozavodskoy the Nizhny Novgorod region in the eternal flame of anti-fascists gathered to commemorate the dead by laying flowers.
On November 4, Nizhny Novgorod, pl. Freedom of young people gathered to protest against the dominance of right-wing and neo-Nazis in the streets of our city. Despite the bad weather event brought together dozens of anti-fascists, anarchists, and just concerned citizens. Activists holding 3 banners: "Stop the Nazi Terror," against all forms of discrimination and exploitation "," Go out into the street bring back a city, handing out leaflets to people passing on the position of the protesters.
August 19 around 8 am, members of the Moscow Center "E" met on the porch of residence of the Nizhny Novgorod fascist, a member of the movement "independent action" by Alexander Black and demanded that he go with them for questioning. Muscovites did not bother to come specifically for this purpose in Nizhny Novgorod .

At 10 a.m. group of antifa were arrested by police officers at the Minin's square, took to the police division and called in question by members of Antiextremism Department. One of the members of Anti-extremism Department told the detained, that he don't give a damn for his rights and he's ready to wipe his ass with constitution. Detained were charged with unsanctioned action. But no action was there, those guys were going to take part in legal demonstration, which traditionally is held by the Left on Minin's square at 1 of May.
